Annual Mental Illness Awareness Week – Candlelight Prayer Service

When: Tuesday, October 6th @ 6:30pm

Where: Saint Michael’s Church – 1225 National Road, Wheeling

Speaker: Devon Sleeth – is a resident of Wheeling, WV. She is driven by memorable moments captured through her lens as the entrepreneur of Be Still Photography. You can typically find her working as a barista and behind her camera using her gifts to serve at The Experience Church or as her life’s work as mentioned above. Her mental health recovery journey began when she was in college, as she began to experience panic attacks and anxiety that started to infringe upon her everyday life and developed into a severe eating disorder. In January 2019 she found herself in a place where she was losing hope and wanted the pain to end, which led to an unsuccessful suicide attempt. After several hospital stays, hard work through processing in counseling, working with her psychiatrist to develop a healthy and successful medication plan and pressing into her faith, Devon is now able to tell her story and advocate for others who are in need of health and well being in the fight for healthy hearts and minds on their mental health journey. Devon is currently a Regional Director for DBSA West Virginia where she facilitates peer support groups and helps spread resources to help others who are in need.
